Volunteers

Volunteering

Hopkins Area Little League is a non-profit organization operated solely by volunteers. We depend on the support of families to volunteer each season and assist us in providing high quality baseball to our youth.  All HALL families are required to fulfill a volunteer commitment for each player in the league throughout the course of the season.  The head coach and one assistant coach per each team in the program will also suffice for one volunteer credit.

  • Volunteer shifts are tracked through the  DIBS tab on this website.   As a volunteer you are required to select a shift on DIBS, complete that shift and have the Officer on Duty (OD) sign-off on the volunteer log in the concession area.  If you do not work the required shifts per player, your deposit  will be processed at the end of the season.

New Challenger On Field DIBs opportunity this year!  Some of the expectations of this volunteer opportunity are:

Help setup/cleanup fields, help with player warmups, help players with rotations (keep it moving and keep it fun!).

For detailed information regarding policy and procedures please see PDF to the right

Thank you in advance for fulfilling your commitment!

Weather

IMPORTANT: On the day of your shift, the volunteer coordinator will notify you prior to the games when a cancellation occurs due to weather.   In this situation, you will be required to fulfill another volunteer shift.   If the volunteer is at Maetzold when the games are cancelled, full credit will be given for the shift.   Please reach out to the volunteer coordinator for questions/concerns.

All-star requirement (additional)

If your child is selected to play on one of the post season teams, you may be responsible for covering an additional volunteer shift that may include announcing, scorekeeping or concession shift (one per player).    Getting an opportunity to host a post-season tournament is a great way to showcase how awesome our program is and we hope you understand the importance of volunteering to make HALL shine!

Additional information will be provided towards the end of the regular season.

Interested in volunteering on our board?

The HALL board of directors is committed to running HALL with the utmost integrity and strives to maintain the standards of excellence of those who have led before us. As part of their kids natural progression through elementary school, each year we are looking for new board members to join our team. Do you want to help ensure that current and future generations of Hopkins kids have a great baseball program each year? Please email Joey Kerber if you would like more information stepping up to the plate.

Do you have a skill or talent? Not finding a shift in Dibs that works for you?

Don't have time to volunteer on our board or don't know enough about baseball to coach or help with a team.  We completely understand, life is busy and your skill set might be in a different area.   We have lots of needs in special areas, for smaller segments of time where you could get plugged in and use your special gifts or skills.   Also, if you can't find a volunteer shift to work, you can use your talent to  save money (deposit check) and help HALL!

Start by thinking about your skills or expertise and then identify how it would provide benefit to HALL?  The help you could provide is only limited by our own imaginations.   Think about it, and let us know how you would like to help.

Skills or talents that are always in need.
